Reputeka

Italy is known for its small artisan workshops and its craftsman tradition: tourists love to buy unique hand-made pieces from local artisans when they visit Italy. Yet, hardly do these small entrepreneurs succeed in giving visibility to their products and selling them to a global audience. The e-commerce platform Reputeka.com was launched with this precise goal: give small local artisans in Italy a virtual marketplace to promote and market their products internationally.

Reputeka, 100% Made in Italy

The web-site was conceived by Luca Cornali and Michele Gallo, CEO and CFO of the company, respectively. Their work is supported by a team of young developers, web designers, computer engineers and marketing experts based in Trentino. Reputeka.com offers Italian artisans, wherever they are and irrespective of the nature of their business, a true virtual marketplace to gain visibility and sell their products all over Italy and the world, promoting the excellence of their work and of Italian’s craftsmanship. All the artisans and products on Reputeka.com, in fact, are 100% Made in Italy.

Reputeka, where the reputation matters

Reputeka.com is also the first e-commerce platform in Italy based on the reputation of the artisans it promotes and the reputation factor is built in a truly unbiased way, because it’s calculated through an algorithm. In fact, every artisan gets a visibility which is directly connected to its reputation and the reputation is calculated only on the basis of the ranking assigned by the users of the platform.

Any artisan, regardless of their business and resource volumes, can access Reputeka.com: subscription to the service is free and the company takes a percentage on each sale. That’s why Reputeka.com has received a special mention for being a project of “sustainable innovation” by Fondazione Giannino Bassetti which promotes progress in research.

“I founded Reputeka.com because i felt Italian artisans needed to be given the opportunity to use the Internet in a more efficient way”, says Luca Cornali, CEO and Co-Founder of Reputeka.com. “Italian artisans are the backbone of our economy but only 1% are online. Reputeka helps artisans sell their products globally and the world find true Italian hand-made products in the comfort of their homes”.
