Made in Italy is not just a label that indicates the country of origin, Made in Italy has became a brand. And as it happens with other popular brands, it often suffers from numerous imitations and falsifications.
Is the product I am about to buy really Made in Italy?
That is the question lots of people ask themselves every single day all over the world. And the “victims” of the falsifications are not only the famous Italian cheeses and wines, but also various clothes, shoes, bags, furniture, design accessories and many other items.
An Italian non-profit organization Reliabitaly has found a solution to the problem of the fake “Made in Italy” products: with their new app “Reliability” each consumer can find out with just a couple of clicks, either this or that product is actually Italian or just an imitation.
Reliabitaly anti-falsification scanner: how it works
The application is very easy to use: the user just has to scan the barcode with his or her smartphone and the full information about the product appears on the screen. The system gives its final conclusion: either the product is genuine Made in Italy or the customer is about to buy a fake. It also redirects the user to the website of the manufacturer in case additional information is required.
To make it possible, Reliabitaly has carried out a significant research and collected together all the Italian manufacturers and their products. The database is updated continuously. Every manufacturer that requires to be inserted into the database goes through a complete control process which makes the instrument as secure and up-to-date as possible.
No more fake mascarpone, balsamic vinegar of Modena, Asiago cheese or tomato puree. The app developed by Reliabitaly lets everyone be sure about buying genuine Made in Italy products. Find it in the Play Store or on iTunes!
