Why the Italian startups attract foreign investors

Nicola Garelli, president of iStarter, described the environment in which the Italian startups are growing nowadays. “Venture capital investments are expected to grow in the European Union,”- states Nicola, “the Italian start-up ecosystem is moving at “a slower pace” but has a scope to speed up over the next five years.”
International corporations and private investors from all over the world, but in this case from China, consider investing in Italian startups mainly for these four reasons:
- The sound economic structure of the groups
- The strength of the brands
- The satisfactory results achieved in the field of research and education
- Cost-efficiency, because the cost of Italian start-ups is lower than elsewhere

According to Ettore Sequi, the Italian Ambassador in Beijing, Italy is a nation of creators and innovators. This feature perfectly responds to the new needs arising in China, which is aiming to become a “nation of innovators”.
