Study shows an 11% increase in last four years

Tourism to Italian “art cities” is expected to rise in 2015, following a trend over the past four years in which tourism to these places has increased by 11%, according to a study released Friday by tourism labor union Assoturismo Confesercenti.

The 11% increase represents a total of 3.9 million more visitors between the years 2010-2014.

The study, conducted by Studio Cst, was presented during a conference to preview this year’s “100 Cities” event in Bologna, which features arts and events in 100 art cities across Italy, and will take place May 29-31.
